To support the contribution and development of the Scotiabank Global Canvas Design System in ReactJS.

Is this role right for you?

• 
  Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
• Attend agile ceremonies
• Develop components and features requested by teams
• Releasing libraries and notify different channels in Slack and Teams
• Answer questions in our public channels
• Governing the Pull Request going into the repos
• Onboarding teams which want to use Canvas libraries
• Provide consultation on new components or improvements on existing components
• Review how teams are implementing Canvas as needed
• Help improve the contribution experience by identifying pain points
• Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

• 
  You have experience with at least one modern JS framework, preferably React
• You’ve used modern JS toolsets (TypeScript, ES6+, Webpack, Babel, Jest, Protractor)
• You have a deep knowledge of HTML / CSS / SASS (BEM, OOCSS, SMACSS, CSS3 Animations, Semantic HTML).
• You have experience with REST API design
• You have worked on productionizing NodeJS servers
• You have knowledge in Object Oriented and Functional Design
• You’ve built accessible and internationalized applications before with accessibility software like VoiceOver, JAWS and/or NVDA.
• You stay up to date with industry best practice
• You have experience in development operation support to support other teams
• You have experience in Agile development (Scrum and Kanban)
• You are passionate to lead ReactJS communities and support communities to resolve technical development challenges
• You have experience with open source methodologies and processes Strong capacity and planning skills; able to forecast and schedule activities to a degree of accuracy based on past experiences and current known information.
